Jillian Schmidt-Levesque, MA Counselling Psy, CCC
Jillian offers a relational, evidence-based treatment approach for individuals affected by a wide variety of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, complex and developmental trauma, developmental and learning disabilities, grief, and life concerns. When working with clients, she utilizes an integrative approach, meaning that she integrates various therapeutic theories and practices to meet the unique needs of each individual. While she strives to meet unique and challenging needs, her counselling style is largely shaped by attachment and system theories. This means that she seeks to understand her clients within their greater context in order to help gain insight into the specific problems that present in therapy.
Jillian has additional training in complex trauma and child & youth therapy, as well as she holds certifications in Observed Experiential Integration (OEI) trauma therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and specialized child & youth play-based treatment.
Jillian’s beliefs about counselling center around a collaborative partnership between herself and her clients. Her passion as a counsellor is to be able to walk with individuals as they discover more about who they are, embrace their experiences, and bolster meaningful relationships. Her hope is to help clients access their own gifts to find solutions to life’s challenges.
